Role Overview & Responsibilities

Morgan King Engineering

Morgan King Engineering are currently partnered with a global manufacturer who are looking for a new maintenance manager to oversea two sites in Sheffield.

Responsibilities

Employment of strict contractor control processes in order to optimise contractor safety in line with company policy.

Deploy a system of structured shift and handover meetings based around the plant wide SQDCIP systems in order to deploy resources to the most needed parts of the business. This should apply to both Maintenance and Tool Room activities.

Maintain stocks off critical spares in order to increase uptime of critical processes.

Through strong leadership, foster an optimal safety and environmental culture within the Maintenance Team making dynamic risk assessment and risk mitigation embedded within the everyday way of working.

Manage the Maintenance Team to ensure there is the correct amount of cover for multiple, demanding production processes across 2 production units, based on the same site, ensuring the correct Team structure is maintained.

Bring best practice to implementation and deployment of a plant wide computer maintenance system to deliver optimal MTBB and MTTR through analysis and continuous improvement.

Key Tasks

•As part of the company, uphold and promote the core business principals of H&S and Customer service.

•To hold poor performance to account and take corrective action where necessary.

•To uphold the key business principals throughout your area.

•To not accept the “status quo” and be prepared to take the difficult decisions where necessary.

•To actively collaborate and support other production areas and wider business.

•To take part in and actively promote a “one business” culture.

•To continuously strive to reduce cost where possible but not at the cost of H&S or performance.

Desirable

•Knowledge of SCADA or electronic production monitoring systems

•Engineering Degree or equivalent

•Multi business experience of managing and improving manufacturing teams and processes.

•Knowledge of maintaining Lasers, Pressbrakes, Presses, Upsetting forges, 2D and 3D Rebar Benders, CNCs, Wickman lathes.

Other Essential Knowledge & Skills

•Proven knowledge of engineering principles

•Experience of conducting feasibility studies, submitting justification proposals, purchasing and implementation of equipment.

•A proven track record of identifying, leading and participating in improvement projects through application of operational excellence.

•Capable of accurately scoping out projects, creating logical work steps and using time and resources effectively.

•Ability to make good timely decisions based on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgement without need for constant support.

•Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•Experience of setting challenging targets, monitoring performance, giving feedback and coaching.

Salary

£50,000 per annum - £55,000 per annum

+ Bonus holidays / pension
