Full Time (37 Hours) - Permanent

Applications are invited for the above post in the Vetting Unit within Professional Standards at OCC Wymondham.

The successful applicant will be responsible for administering various levels of vetting clearance for Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies through research and enquiries in accordance with the College of Policing Approved Professional Practice for Vetting and the Vetting Code of Practice.

Job advert (including person specification)

It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage sensitive conversations
  • Ability to undertake research using various systems
  • Ability to undertake analysis and evaluation of information
  • Experience of accurate record keeping and ability to maintain data quality
  • Experience of documenting decision making and rationale for outcomes
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of vetting procedures as detailed in the College of Policing Approved Professional Practice
  • Have experience of working with confidential and sensitive information
  • Demonstrate and understanding of the National Decision-Making Model

Hours of work are 37 per week Monday to Friday. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

Consideration will be given to whether the post can be delivered on either a part time or job share basis, in line with the organisational requirements of this role.
