M J Church are looking to recruit a proactive Stock Controller / Parts person to control of the parts & stores of impress and owned stock. The successful candidate will join our Transport Workshop team at Star Farm Marshfield. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 0800-1700.
Key Responsibilities:
- Present a professional image and portray a polite and courteous manner at all times.
- Maintain correct off the shelf availability and distribute parts accordingly.
- Receive and check in deliveries on our computer system promptly and efficiently.
- Attend service counter area and take orders/enquiries from technicians.
- Ensure Parts for service jobs are picked and ready for the technicians.
- Ensure return to stock for parts not required.
- Build and develop new and existing relationships with parts suppliers.
- Parts returns arranged accordingly to suppliers promptly with appropriate paperwork, when necessary.
- Ensure company credit control procedures are maintained at all times.
- Parts department and workshop/yard to be kept clean and tidy at all times i.e., walkways/gangways to be kept clear and free of hazards.
- Proactively embark on stock checks, working to reduce stock check line discrepancies.
- Good computer skills, knowledge of excel, word.
- Understand the workshop schedule and loading systems to manage workflow and the effect on service provided.
- Ensure all stock is stored, handled, and transported securely and in line with health & safety guidelines.
- Work with colleagues to ensure the workplace is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.
Criteria:
Β· Parts background preferred, but we would consider candidates with general knowledge of parts.
Β· Automotive, truck or car experience, or dealership background is desirable.
Β· Clean driving licence and good driving record.
Β· Fork lift truck driving licence is desirable (training will be provided)
Β· Teamwork, ability to work confidently within a group and on own initiative.
Β· Time Management, ability to manage time effectively, prioritising tasks and working to deadlines, whilst being quality focused to ensure the right parts are sourced.
Β· Drive and determination to get things done, make things happen and continually looking for better ways to improve the function of stores.
Β· Ability to build rapport and positive relationships β Working with the Suppliers to build professional relationships to ensure all workshop requirements are scheduled in a timely manner.
Β· Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks at once β Manage tasks from internally within the workshop, ensuring all tasks are completed in the desired time frame.
Β· Forward thinker, using own initiative under pressureβ Be able to overcome any obstacles that present themselves under pressure whilst ensuring the workshop needs are still met.
