JOB TITLE: MECHANICAL FITTER - LEAD HAND


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To carry out the duties of Mechanical Fitter as required within Mechanical Fitter Job Description.
  • Coordinate with Workshop Supervision on Fitting departmental job priorities and allocate applicable personnel.
  • Coordinate with Workshop Supervision and Materials Logistics Controller with regards the expediting of outsourced Torque & Coating processes.
  • Coordinate with Workshop Supervision & Quality Department with regards maintenance and calibration of Pressure Test & Torque Equipment.
  • Coordinate with Workshop Supervision & Quality Department with regards Fitting Qualification & Training requirements.
  • Coordinate with Workshop Supervision & Quality Department with regards work standards and notifying the above of non-conforming products.
  • Control of Fitting Consumables ensuring Testing Consumables and ancillary equipment are available to allow for continuous production output.
  • Understanding of in-house Quality Procedures & Forms relevant to the Fitting department.
  • Participate & Lead in the company’s Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental policies.
  • Participate & Lead in company Lean Management and 5S principles supporting Workshop Supervision & Management to achieve safe, quality, productive department.
  • Facilitate TBT & CI gatherings to improve individual and departmental performance.
  • Ability to follow instructions and cooperate and communicate to fitting department accordingly.
  • Capable of working to personnel & departmental deadlines.
  • Care of departmental tools, machinery, and associated fitting equipment c/w regular maintenance of Pressure Test equipment.
  • Perform all duties required within job role safely adhering to Company Safe System of Work (SSoW).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Time served apprenticeship preferred but not essential.
  • Experience of Company, API & Customer Assembly / Test Procedures.
  • Oil & Gas industry experience.
  • Understanding of in-house procedures relevant to the role.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Capable of working on own initiative and leading a team.
  • Methodical in their approach to assigned work is essential.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work to deadlines.
  • Ability to understand Assembly & Test drawings & requirements.
  • Ability to lead a small team of Mechanical Fitters.
