Engineering Buyer
Butler Ross have a fantastic opportunity for a Engineering Buyer to come and join an industry leading manufacturing company based in Northampton but they do offer flexible hybrid working. This role will play an integral part in the growth and development of the procurement team and will be working mainly on the production and prototype side of the business.
Overview of the Role of the Engineering Buyer
- Working closely with the, Engineering, Design and Quality teams in managing BoM components.
- Be able to negotiate price, quantity and on-time delivery to meet demand and programme BoM target costs.
- Developing a robust and objective supplier sourcing, selection, and nomination process.
- Responsibility and autonomy of the purchase order process in delivering high quality components across multiple programmes.
- Review ordering to optimise costs and find opportunities in design and material selection for potential cost-down initiatives.
- Optimise stock levels and interpreting MRP/SAP demand.
Previous Experience Required for the Engineering Buyer
- Strong procurement background in a technical manufacturing environment.
- The ability to understand and communicate detailed engineering drawings and interpret a BoM.
- Good IT skills, confident with Microsoft office and ideally have used SAP before.
- Knowledge of manufacturing requirements and processes such as FAIR/PPAP/ISIR/APQP would be very desirable.
- Strong negotiation, communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
This role would be very well placed for a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Technical Buyer, Engineering Buyer, Category Buyer, Category Manager, Commodity Manager, Commodity Buyer or Specialist Buyer
