Unity Doors is a specialist in the design, manufacture and supply of Timber and Composite doorsets. We are recruiting for a CAD Technician to join our Leicester JCK Joinery team.
Reporting to: Managing Director / Commercial Office Manager
Location: Leicester site
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Dependent on experience – range £30,000 to £35,000 per annum

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce all CAD drawings for timber door sets and associated products
- Produce Cutting Lists for shopfloor production
- Maintain the product specifications and drawings on ERP system, Joinerysoft
- Provide support with programming of CNC machine for new specifications
- Provide technical assistance on timber door sets to all customers – Architects, Main and sub-contractors, Local Authorities, Engineers – by phone and email
- Active involvement in new and existing product development including fire door and security testing programmes
- Administer and develop technical information such as thermal UV calculations
- Ensure all technical filing is completed and easy to access (hard copy, digital, reference literature)
- Provide assistance to the Commercial Office Manager and Directors with any ad-hoc technical duties or projects
Skills, abilities and characteristics
- Significant experience in a similar CAD role, ideally within a construction-related product or systems environment
- CAD skills (2D and 3D), ideally to include AutoCAD based software
- Experience in manufacturing of building / construction products and systems – ideally timber joinery
- Focused on providing excellent customer service
- Must have a practical and logical approach to work
- Able to present a calm and ‘can do’ attitude
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- Confident IT user with experience in reporting and analysis
